Calangute Beach
Calangute Beach is a characteristic beach of Goa with swaying palm trees and soft sandy stretches with plenty of sunshine. ‘Calangute’ means 'land of fishermen' and true to its name, small fishing villages of Arpora-Nagoa, Saligao and Candolim dot the landscape. Coconut water and feni a local drink prepared from fermenting cashews are popular drinks that one could try out in the beaches of Goa.
As with all beaches of Goa, families, honeymooners and sunbathers all ejoy the beach in their own ways. As a result various activities for various groups and tastes are on offer from shopping to water sports to food and drinks , you can find all of that at the Calangute Beach. Since Go ais full of relics, the Bom Viagem Convent is in close vicinity. Also Medicinal water springs at Mottant nearby attract a lot of tourists. Calangute beach can be visited anytime of the year , yet the best time would be November to February.
